The main purpose of focus group research is to determine respondents' attitudes, beliefs, experiences and reactions to a product, policy, or other concept. For example, an employer may want to know if a new policy will be perceived as beneficial or heavy-handed, an advertising agency may want to know what comes to mind when their new slogan is mentioned, and a toy company may want to know parent's thoughts about a new product or how much they would be willing to spend to purchase the toy for their child. These attitudes and opinions may be more likely to be revealed within the context of a social gathering. Focus groups provide the social interaction that facilitates the expression of opinions and personal experiences. Focus groups can provide valuable information that will allow your organization to effectively implement or update policies; price your product; target your intended audience; gain insight into the effectiveness of your program; or generate ideas about a product or service. |

Overcoming obstacles
The first step in overcoming obstacles is to realize that you will always have obstacles. No one is guaranteed a problem-free, stress-free life. Once you accept this reality, you become open to the possibility of overcoming any situation.
Dealing with others
You can really learn a lot about yourself from difficult people. The better you are able to deal with them (and their antics), the better you will be able to deal with difficult situations.
Motivating employees
Unlocking someone’s potential is not as difficult as you think. Everyone requires a certain degree of motivation and confidence. Let others know that you believe in their ability and competence. If you raise your expectations, most people will raise their achievement.
